About Aaron

Aaron Smith is a proud alumnus of the MFinMath program at the University of Queensland, graduating in 2016. He spent several years in the banking industry, applying and enhancing his mathematical expertise before transitioning to the renewable energy sector.

Aaron currently serves as the Trading Risk and Valuations Manager at CleanCo Queensland, a key player in Queensland’s energy sector which is owned by the Queensland Government. At CleanCo, he leads a team of quantitative analysts who are responsible for the financial risk measurement and oversight of the trading activities of a portfolio focused on low-emission energy generation, primarily from solar, wind, hydro and battery resources. CleanCo is integral to advancing Queensland’s commitment to achieving a 70% renewable energy target by 2032.
